One of THOSE days

From the first moment of cognizance this morning  I knew it was going to be one of those days....how did I know you ask....

I woke myself up groaning.... in pain...everything hurt... we rented a sod cutter yesterday and I got to run it because it seemed like the least of two evils...it was either do that or roll the sod up and carry it to the truck...hahahahaa sitting in the shade sipping mint juleps was not an option....but would have been my preferred occupation.

 

I was tired and sore and couldn't keep my eyes open...so I decided to drive...ahahahahaha I had to go to town to pick up a parcel at sears and decided to go and do my monthly blood work at the hospital...I missed the past 3 months and was worried someone would be phoning to give me shit....so fasting since 8 pm the night before...I drove myself into to town and gave blood...got a student lab tech...always so much fun and when I walked out of there...I had three new holes in my arm and was light 7 vials of blood....actually felt a bit light headed but whether it was the blood or lack of nourishment I wasn't sure... I drove down to the sears pickup store and they were closed ...don't open until 10 am....went across to the bank....it was closed, don't open until 10....arrrrhhhhhaaaggggg

I went to town nice and early thinking by the time I did the blood thing the others would be open....thinking that places still opened at 9 am....silly me....meanwhile I am sitting in the truck trying not to fall asleep and drool on myself....ewwww.

I finally got the bank stuff done...and drove home, playing my music really loud to keep myself awake....I had my breakfast at 11 am...and went outside...I hoed the entire garden...while R laid the cut sod in the spot we prepared in the other yard to lay it...to cover up dandelions...hahahahhaa   he just couldn't bear to throw it in the bush...so he spent all day buggering around with it...  We came in for our main meal at 1:30  I made steak for R and I had left over Chinese..... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

then I had to crash....I showered and passed out on the bed....while R kept working on his sod project.....  I rarely sleep in the daytime...since I have a really hard time...

this was one of those days...  I fell asleep easily enough...but the type of sleep was horrible...it was one of those comatose...sleeps....the kind where you your body has gone into such a deep sleep that it can't hear your brain telling it to wake up...  I could hear the phone ring but couldn't move to answer...and I heard R come in the house and tried to say something but couldn't make my body do it....I hate those kind of sleeps...I think it is linked to my meds......disturbing any way, what ever causes it...so I did finally wake up at 5 pm...but felt worse than before I laid down.....

so my huge landscaping project is in full swing now...

we cut the sod and removed it...tomorrow we will clean up the remnants and lay down the rock chip for the base of the stone retaining walls... our ground is such hard clay here that it is easier to raise the beds rather than dig them into the ground... once we have the walls in place we will fill them with soil and plant a few shrubs...not too much this year since it is so late already...but next spring I will be buying a few more things.... should look really nice...well not as nice as Ferns, since we live in a zone much like Siberia....some things just can't grow here...but nice by northern standards....hahahaha
