The Unveiling

Well here it is ....my massive comfy garden bench, built entirely from salvaged 2 x 6 fence planks from the junk pile, mortise and tenon joinery and a shit load of sanding, sanding and more sanding.  FYI, I am not in love with the Jacobean stain colour but we bought it, so I used it.  Three coats of Polyurethane to protect it from the elements and voila.....it is ready to sit out in my yard beneath the pine trees so I can sit, eat my lunch and enjoy the antics of the squirrel chasing the blue jays over the dwindling number of sunflower seeds in the feeder.

I have moved on to building a pair of stools...like bar stools only not so tall...I have them together and today my big mission is to cut the two 15 in. diameter circles out of two 2 x 10's laminated together,  with the jig saw.... then sanding  and more sanding and I can paint them.  pictures to follow of course.   Then I want to make a  pair of side tables for out on the deck... and so on and so on....
