Tested...

I believe we are all tested from time to time by the greater powers that be, to see just how much shit and crap we can withstand...I can see you all nodding your heads...

I know this for fact because I have several great examples where I have been tested to withing a hairs breadth of loosing my marbles....hahahaha the past few days have been just that...

It all started the day after my last post....the one about women getting the short straw...I think I might have pissed someone off....(a man most likely)....and have been reaping my just rewards ever since....

We were baling hay up on our north quarters and had finally finished those fields...late afternoon....I had gone up there in the morning in the farm truck and R had followed on his quad...so now we are heading home and R tells me that I am taking the quad home since he has to go and change batteries on the solar waterer....and he needs the truck for that...Okay, no sweat...so I am quading home on the gravel road...and turn down our side road...and WHAM.....a bee of some sort  hits my arm...falls to my lap and stings me in the upper thigh....It burns like a bitch....and I grab my thigh and start rubbing...slowing down in the process...when WHAM, then WHAM.....two more hornets sting me about an inch apart on my lower leg....okay by now I am some pissed off...and rev the quad to get the hell out of there at top speed  by the time I was half way home I had a constricted air way and was wheezing...my leg was swelling and my heart was racing....I am allergic to bee stings but the reactions haven't been very significant the past few years so I quit carrying the epi pen...with me....hahahahaha apparently a big mistake....but I managed to make it home and was so short of breath and panicky that I had trouble getting the key in the lock....rushed inside and shot myself with the epi and then took liquid Benadryl...tried phoning R on his cell but he had left it in the truck so he wouldn't drop it in the water trough...ahahahaha what a pair... I tried calling him three times...but by the third time I was starting to feel slightly better....I crawled in the tub to soak in Epsom salts and wait till R came home.... The benadryl puts me into a medication comma and I was wasted the rest of the night...

The next day we were back baling....because there is no rest for the wicked...you know....  but my tractor kept overheating, it was 30 degrees out but still...it is the only tractor with air conditioning...and without it those tractors are like sauna's...I had no course but to shut off the air conditioner, thinking that if that didn't help I would turn it back on...but what do you know...the engine temperature gauge started going down and the tractor was running cooler with the air conditioner off....figures...so for the rest of the afternoon I perspired....buckets and buckets of water...luckily I never go anywhere in the tractor without a thermos of cold water so I could replenish what I was sweating out...we barely got that field done in time, as we could see a huge storm brewing off in the distance...there were tornado watches and warnings off severe rain and hail on the weather station...

When the storm hit it was ferocious...the wind came first...like a wall, one second it was calm the next the swathes of hay were blowing across the field....I kicked the tractor into a higher gear (which I rarely do) and tried to bale the hay before it all blew to hell will have it.  I finished just as the rain hit...and we hurried home in the truck....the power was  off for 4 hours that night...lightening hit a line somewhere is what they told us...  I hit the shower as soon as I got in the house storm or no storm I wasn't about to sit around in that itchy hay dust...and sweat....so when I was drying off is when I first noticed the rash....all down my legs and arms..  HEAT RASH...raised welts and red....my skin felt like it was on fire....

Then last night...I had a horrible migraine headache most of the afternoon and R wanted to take me out for supper....I couldn't say no....so we went...I wanted to pick up the material I would need to construct an artist's easel...I have a small one but for these bigger canvas's I needed a hefty one...and wasn't about to pay $500. for one...

When we went to bed last night my head was throbbing in time to my heart beat...I thought around 3 am (yes I was still wide awake then) that Iwas having a heart attack...and tried to wake R ...but he sleeps like the dead...so no luck there... I got up and walked around a bit and did manage to fall into fit full sleep around 4 am...but was awake again at 5 and then 7 am. I gave up trying to get anymore sleep and got up...but now I feel like hell...my heart is beating irratically and I still have that horrible headache...so if i am still alive come morning I guess I will go see the emerg. doctor...

I did build my easel today though in spite of my head wanting to explode...I think it turned out pretty good...all things considered....I was using crude tools...since I don't have fancy mitre saws and such....just a skill saw, sander and drill...
it is held together with dowel and peg...it stands just over 6 ft. tall...

I have put one coat of stain on and will give it another later...then I will be in business.... and it only cost me $ 15. plus my time, to make...

PS. R was mad at me for getting stung by hornets...ahahahhaha  like I had any control over that for F's sake...and apparently I should have woke him up last night when I was so sick....hahahahaha...duh.....
